1.History of Salsa – Spain and Africa 1

First, to understand how salsa came into being,
You have to know the prehistory.

The story begins in the middle of the 15 century, in the Age of Discovery.
European powers, led by Spain and Portugal, competed
In India, Asia and the Americas
I'll go. and many of these countries as colonies,
control.
and to make a profit from the colonies,
and labor to emigrate large numbers of African slaves.

BUT NOW THAT I THINK ABOUT IT, IT'S AN AMAZING STORY.
Europeans thought Africans were animals.
chain and feed and carry and work
It's awful, but anyway,
And so, throughout the Americas,
black Africans move.

Europe, politically and economically,
in Asia, in Africa, in the United States.
Culture is not like that.
It affects, but it doesn't control.
This is the beauty of culture.

And eventually, all over America,
the unique rhythms of black people
in the music of Europe.
Black people also play white instruments.

blues and jazz and R & B in British America
samba in Portuguese Brazil
Latin music on Spanish Caribbean islands
to be born.

In Cuba, we have sons, dansons, rumbas, etc.
In Puerto Rico, Bomba and Playna.

I think many people know so far.
And that's the origin of salsa today.
